The vertical axis represents the ratio of the number of immunoreactive profiles in the ipsilateral versus contralateral nucleus. Animals were studied 7 days after injury (means ± S.E.M., n = 6). *p < 0.05 according to the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test.
